With such foreign policy stance, a viable economic base, an adept purposeful political leadership and viable governance structure, Nigeria would indeed be able to assert her indelible footprints once more across Africa, effectively making her the undeniable giant of Africa.

Hypocrisy of the Oppressed in Nigeria
Without a wave of mental vacillation or careless ambivalence it is tendentiously apt to say that the oppressor of the oppressed in Nigeria is the oppressed. And the curse of the oppressed in the Nigerian case is the oppressed. I know these seemingly cutting opinion lines may fire up the crimson dander of some Nigerians; whatever be the case, I ask for balanced and disciplined understanding and cogitation. However, objectionable this reasoning may be, the truth wrapped in it cannot be confuted.

Ode to Aquila
I saw you in the rain
You looked so frail
I must heal your pain
But the kids say I must pay
Money, money their demand
But to me it seem like free
Holding you in my hand
Your freedom I guaranty
Your breath was running deep
Your eyes were looking weak
But your stealth, your zeal
They showed on your beak
I’ll keep your in my sink
Watch you while I think
I like the way you wink
It really aids my ink
Am sure to find your feed
Can’t wait to see you fit
Very soon you’ll fly
Oh Aquila, to the sky

Nigerian Economy: The Outlook for 2014
The topic “The Outlook for the Nigerian Economy in 2014” is apt and timely particularly for the investing community, as we count down to the next general elections in 2015. To undertake a prognosis and outlook of the economy in 2014, it is helpful to provide a background by briefly reviewing some major economic developments in 2013. Incidentally, the CBN Monetary Policy Committee at its last meeting dwelt on these developments and provided insights on the outlook for 2014.

Meet Nigeria's Highest Paid CEOs

The Value of a B.A LGDS Degree; a Labour Market Perspective
Local Government and
Development Studies (LGDS) is a unique discipline being offered at Ahmadu Bello
University, Zaria and IBB University, Lapai. This course is a multidisciplinary
one that arms students with skills cutting across different fields of human
endeavor. It is the melding of two
independent but mutually reinforcing disciplines that have been noted to affect
the lives of people at the grassroots.
It is the unification of Local Government Administration as an academic
discipline and Development Studies. Whilst the former has been around for quite
a while, the latter is a budding discipline that only very few universities
around the world offer.

EXTENSION ACTIVITIES OF THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS IN NIGERIAN LOCAL GOVERNMENT
Introduction
A good understanding of the
structural-functional analysis tells us that every structure is meant to
perform a function. The structures of local government were designed to perform
certain functions. Hence, it is important to point out that the way and manner
these structures are designed will go a long way in determining how far it will
live up to the expectation of delivering the goods to the people. Local
government is said to be that level of government that is closest to the
people, such that it is that level of government that is supposed to meet the
needs of the people most efficiently. Thus, to achieve this end local
government carryout what is known as Extension
Service.

The Irresponsible Giant
The
Nigerian state is like a man who is highly respected in the eyes of the
public. He goes out to top-notch restaurants and bars, buy the most
expensive food and drinks for himself and enjoy, wears expensive dresses
and drives the latest cars. He attends important functions and
interacts with other men of higher, equal and lower status as he.
Meanwhile,
at home, his children are hungry, they go about begging their
neighbours for food, wear tattered clothes and their school fees aren't
paid. The furniture in the sitting room are broken, utility bills aren't
paid, his many wives and children are fighting amongst themselves.
Yet
this man, the Nigerian state, goes about thumping his chest and calling
himself a giant. He is indeed an irresponsible giant!
Invention, Innovation and Enterprise (part 1)
Back in my days at Ahmadu Bello University,
Zaria, I came across two books that really gave me insights on the difference
between Invention and Innovation and how they relate to entrepreneurship. The
one, titled Innovation, by William Kingston, made a categorization of
different creative types that drives society, and the other titled The Challenge of
Innovation, by John Adair, tells of how ideas are converted into products and
into profit through the combined efforts of certain characters. These books, in
my opinion, are good reads and I strongly recommend them for anybody interested
in knowing the nitty-gritty of Innovation.

Sustainable Energy is the Future
The world over, businesses and households are seeking for ways to reduce their energy expenditures and thereby switching over to more sustainable ways of powering their systems. The burning of fossil fuel and emission of carbon into the atmosphere are not only costly for businesses, the economy and environment, but are also viewed as unethical in our green economies of today. The need to change over from traditional energy systems to alternative energy sources has never before been so
10 Reasons Why People Look for Jobs
Although different people seek employment for varied reasons, the following are among the raison d'ter for their decisions
Days of Blackberry
These days of Blackberry
Of the Western funny panty
And tricky curly jerry
My sister’s turning scary
Quick to spread her thigh
To the dude paying high
While tomorrow she’ll cry
On her knees asking why
Forgetting her silly folly
While she was making nasty
And selling so hasty
The epitome of her beauty
Now she is a slave
To the articles she crave
Loathing all the rave
She wish she never gave
At The Junction of Nowhere
The title of this article has been deliberately chosen to draw attention to the problems entrepreneurs face in their quest to find a silver lining in the dark cloud of confusion that is usually associated with this challenging field of human endeavor. Another appropriate title for this piece would have been “The Entrepreneur’s Dilemma”. But I’d opted for ” At The Junction of Nowhere” because it sounds more creative, catchy, descriptive and unique.
