The
Nigerian state is like a man who is highly respected in the eyes of the
public. He goes out to top-notch restaurants and bars, buy the most
expensive food and drinks for himself and enjoy, wears expensive dresses
and drives the latest cars. He attends important functions and
interacts with other men of higher, equal and lower status as he.
Meanwhile,
at home, his children are hungry, they go about begging their
neighbours for food, wear tattered clothes and their school fees aren't
paid. The furniture in the sitting room are broken, utility bills aren't
paid, his many wives and children are fighting amongst themselves.
Yet
this man, the Nigerian state, goes about thumping his chest and calling
himself a giant. He is indeed an irresponsible giant!
