Sustainable Energy is the Future

The world over, businesses and households are seeking for ways to reduce their energy expenditures and thereby switching over to more sustainable ways of powering their systems. The burning of fossil fuel and emission of carbon into the atmosphere are not only costly for businesses, the economy and environment, but are also viewed as unethical in our green economies of today. It digs a big hole in our pockets as well as pollute the environment. 

According to Prof Chinedu Nebo, the minister of power,  "Nigeria needs to generate over 200,000MW of electricity annually; we are still at less than 5,000MW." This implies that the country is running short  of 195, 000MW (97.5%) of our national electricity need per annum. 

The import of this is that it will take a long before we are guaranteed of stable power supply from the national grid-- the reliance on government and its associates for the provision of stable power supply cannot be relied upon. 

Sustainable Energy simply refers to  energy systems that are replenishable within a human lifetime and causes no long-term damage to the environment. 

Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency  are the twin pillars of Sustainable energy.Renewable Energy include the use of solar energy, wind energy and other non-fossil energies for generating electrical energy. Energy efficiency is the use of minimal energy to do more work. 

Sustainable Energy is the intelligent way of achieving  a cost effective system of improving organizational performance and  increasing their profitability.  

Sustainable Energy the modern way of achieving the global goal of ensuring a cleaner environment free of carbon emission and consumption of clean air through renewable and efficient energy systems.
